The Audio Adventures of Auroraman
Hey there Auroramaniacs! So some of you may remember, or for some of you this might be brand new information, but back in 2018 we started a different style of adventures with Auroraman in for form of an audio comic podcast. This was kind of like an audio book, but based on a comic story. I love a good audio book, especially when they go big and cast people for characters and so I thought ‘why not try it but also have sound effects and stuff too!’, and we dove into it! Melinda and Kye joined in on it, providing character voices and narration and we wondered into new territory. Episode one is a bit rough, but was a great learning experience and paced the way for more. We even ended up on TV about it which was super cool. I will have to see if I have the video on the YouTube channel or not.
We did two more episodes shortly after in 2019 and had grown with more people lending us their voices and even had an episode debut at a panel at SaskExpo Saskatoon, complete with a character debut live by our friend and cosplayer who voiced them in the episode!
The wheels were turning hot and fast and more episodes were in the works as 2020 came around.
Somewhere along there I bit off more than I could chew and was stretching myself too thin in trying to do so many projects and shows and more and more so something had to back off in the Auroraman work and the audio comic was one of the things that was shelved, with the intent to come back to it. Well turns out this summer was the time! I dusted off the files and took a look at where we were. Turns out we had everything recorded for a new episode, so I took a look at slowly trying my hand at the mixing again, baby steps without trying to max myself out again. Turns out it flowed really easy when I wasn’t trying to be all gas, no brake and just worked on it when I could. A couple parts need to be updated as it was originally recorded 6 years ago so the dates needed a change and there is new opening music too, but as of this posting it is almost ready to go!

Oh and along with this summers just playing around I also found a decently priced on demand vinyl record service and today my test copy of the Audio Adventures of Auroraman 12’ vinyl record arrived! To say it’s a surreal trip is an understatement! Stay tuned for more news/developments with this idea soon!
